Committee on release of 1^st May Detainees

On Wednesday afternoon 12^th May, finally all the detainees arrested in the city of Saqez by Islamic Republic of Iran on the 1^st of May have been released and joined their family among public praise and joy. Those freed were Jalal Hosseini, Mohsen Hakimi, Mahmoud Salehi, Borhan Diwangard, mohammad Abdipoor, Esmael Khodkam, and Hadi Tanomand.

During the 12 days of detaining the labour movement activist by the capitalist regime, support and solidarity in Iran and abroad with the arrested workers and their families created a strong working class movement. The news on this event spread widely. Unions and workers representative bodies actively supported and show their solidarity through sending open letters to Islamic regime in charge. Detainees’ families acted bravely and very creatively to have their loved ones released. Workers and their comrades despite the limitation did not hold back on what they could do to support.

Communist Party of Iran’s activists alongside other struggling left and communist activists and workers movement famous and well known activists made it their duty to expose the Islamic regime’s attack on the workers freedom and their basic class rights.

To defend their deprived basic rights, the detained struggling workers staged a hunger strike till end with courage.

Komala sincerely congratulates workers of Kurdistan, Iranian workers and all of you who actively ensured this enormous victory for the working class movement.
