We have received information about the situation of the students in Iran.
Many of them have been arrested without having committed any crimes. They
have taken to prison, brutally mistreated and tortured. This has happened
to Behruz Karimzad, Peyman Piran and Majid Ashraf Nejad and others. The
students were arrested because the police authorities suspected that the
students were planning to use their democratic right to express their
opinion in different issues.
It is of course not a crime to express your opinion. But is a crime to
stop someone from doing it and it even worse to punish somebody for
planning to do it. Not to say to torture somebody for his or her thought
and ideas.
We demand that Behruz Karimzad, Peyman Piran, Majid Ashraf Nejad and other
students arrested because of political reason must be released
immediately.
